Congresswoman Val Hoyle represents Oregon’s 4th Congressional District and has spent her career fighting for working families, expanding access to democracy, and protecting the rights of those too often left behind.
Before coming to Congress, Val served as Oregon House Majority Leader, where she helped raise the minimum wage, pass universal background checks on gun sales, and expand voter access through the nation’s first automatic voter registration law. As Oregon’s Labor Commissioner, she fought wage theft, strengthened protections for marginalized workers, and Oregon civil rights protections for LGBTQ Oregonians were treated with dignity and fairness on the job and in housing.
In Congress, Val serves on the House Committees on Transportation & Infrastructure and Natural Resources, where she advocates for rural investment, clean energy, and infrastructure that supports economic mobility for all — including LGBTQ+ Oregonians. She’s a fierce advocate for democracy, labor rights, bodily autonomy, and trans equality, and has consistently spoken out against right-wing efforts to criminalize LGBTQ+ identities and roll back civil rights.
Val is a committed voice for progressive change, and is proud to stand with The Christopher Street Project in the fight to build a more just and inclusive future.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Christopher Street Project. CSP does incredible work to uplift trans voices and make sure everyone – no matter who they are – is treated with dignity and respect. In Congress, I’ll keep working alongside CSP to help trans people feel safe, supported, and fully seen. Because equality isn’t negotiable, and everyone deserves to belong.”
